Fola Oyediran was a deeply respected and loved pastor in our UK fellowship. He served on the Walthamstow church council before going to Jos, Nigeria in 1995. Three years later he moved his family to Lagos where in Surulere God used his ministry powerfully and on his return to the UK, several key couples and people moved to the Anthony village church. Today they are pillars in the church alongside two couples who are pastoring in Nigeria: Pastor David and Patience and Pastor Adamson and Toyin.
After a time back in the Walthamstow church, Pastor Fola shared his burden for Ireland and in 2006 was announced into Dublin. Today, there is a group of believers who love Jesus and want to serve Him diligently. Therein lies the testimony: Wherever Fola and Mary ministered or interacted – people were inspired to meet Jesus or if they already knew Him to love Jesus more.
There was a sincere dedication, a quiet and not ostentatious display of faith and integrity, along with his family a willingness to sacrifice all for his Saviour.
To us, he was an elder statesman in the faith, now as a child of God, I have no doubt he is rejoicing, reunited with his son Fola, in the Presence of his Eternal Father and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Until we meet again….. God bless.
Pastor Nigel Brown.
